SONIA ELISHEVA
British singer and songwriter SONIA ELISHEVA blends her London vernacular with the folk roots of her Eastern European heritage, creating a sound where cocktail bar jazz meets night-bus banter and sweaty night club electro-swing. After signing to UK label Freshly Squeezed, Sonia released her debut album Black Sea in 2025, amassing over half a million streams, earning four BBC Introducing “Track of the Day” features, and landing on editorials including New Music Friday UK and Jazz UK. Pulling together half-remembered Eastern European melodies and adopted pop sensibilities, Black Sea explores themes of displacement, memory, home, and identity, all delivered with Sonia’s trademark humour and irreverence.
Known for her magnetic stage presence, Sonia's live shows span from sold-out jazz venues to East London’s underground club scene. In 2025, Sonia embarked on her first international tour across Austria, the Baltic States and Paris. Back home in London, she curates Electro-Swag: a genre-bending, female-led, music and arts night.
